President Trump is committed to combatting the hate-fueled violence of domestic terrorism.

  • In his remarks yesterday, President Trump made abundantly clear that “hate has no place in America.”
  • The President announced he has “asked the FBI to identify all further resources they need to investigate and disrupt hate crimes and domestic terrorism — whatever they need.”

Under President Trump, federal law enforcement officers are working vigilantly to confront the threat of domestic terrorism and keep our citizens and communities safe.

  • As Director Chris Wray recently attested, the FBI is using all investigative techniques and methods at their disposal to combat terrorist threats—including domestic terrorism.
  • In May, the FBI reported investigating some 850 domestic terrorism cases.
  • Efforts by Federal law enforcement officers have succeeded in breaking-up and preventing acts of potential domestic terrorism before they can happen.
    • Last year, FBI investigations led to the arrest of around 120 domestic terrorism suspects.
  • Earlier this year, the FBI established the Domestic Terrorism-Hate Crimes Fusion Cell to target domestic terrorism influenced by hate.
    • This force is made up of subject matter exports across the FBI.
    • These professionals are tasked with bolstering ongoing investigations and facilitating seamless information sharing to help stop future attacks.
  • The Department of Justice has launched a centralized website to educate the public on hate crimes and encourage reporting.
  • The FBI has conducted hundreds of seminars, workshops, and training with law enforcement around to country to improve reporting on hate crimes.
