Bienvenido Event in San Antonio, TX : Josh Lopez with Champion Coalition

Weston Martinez interviewed Josh Lopez from the Champions Coalition about what they have been working on. The Champions Coalition partnered with Bievendo to put on the Texas GOP Chairman Debate. The Champions Coalition is a Conservative Evangelical Group their mission is to get Christian Conservatives to come to the polls and voters their conscious. Lopez said, ” Vote what we know to be true and family values.” Martinez asks him about his experience in Bear County, Texas. Lopez said

” Being in a primarily liberal area makes it hard sometimes to be a Conservative Hispanic. I have been called everything from a Count to giving up my race. There is a lot of misinformation. Once we can educate them on what the party stands for… Because I think we can all agree on family values…”

As Lopez points out that Hispanics’ family values have more in common with Republican principles, however because of the media the issue of immigration divides us. However, the Republican Party is not against immigration as long as it is legal immigration. If the Hispanic community can see that immigration reform and illegal immigration are separate issues that both need to be dealt with then they would have more in common with Republicans.
