AZ Hispanic Outreach Event with Sheriff Lamb
Republican Hispanic organization leaders gather in Prescott, AZ for an event promoting Hispanic outreach in the community featuring special guest speaker Sheriff Mark Lamb.
On Sunday, July 21, Prescott Valley served as a meeting place for a Hispanic Outreach event co-hosted by Lucy Leyva, Prescott Valley City Council, and Lori Martinez, AZ State Chairwoman Republican National Hispanic Assembly (RNHA), RNC National Delegate. Held at the Warehouse Event Center, courtesy of Lucy Leyva, approximately fifty people were in attendance despite severe thunderstorm weather conditions.
Event attendees were primarily from the Prescott Valley, but also as far away as Phoenix and Chandler, AZ. The outreach event served as a platform to emphasize the importance of building strong, multi-tiered Hispanic leadership. Leaders from Hispanic organizations spoke to the crowd about their respective organizations. Sheriff Mark Lamb, a fluent Spanish speaker, delivered a dynamic bilingual speech. A food truck, bar services, face painting, and an interactive photo booth made the event complete.
Just the right combination of food, fun, informative speakers, and an intimate venue setting created an authentic sense of community and togetherness. Luci Wheat, Chairwoman Yavapai Chapter RNHA, First Vice Chair GOP, and emcee for the evening, did a wonderful job keeping the program running at a smooth pace.
After the invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance, event attendees received a special treat when 10-year-old Kennedy Cooper performed a beautiful rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. Kennedy is the daughter of (AZ) RNHA Media Surrogate, Erin Cooper, and AZ-04 Congressional Candidate, Kelly Cooper.
Following the traditional patriotic customs, a great lineup of Hispanic leadership took the stage. Maasiai Montenegro, Latin Americans for Trump, Eddie Zuniga, Latinos United for Conservative Action (LUCA), and Monica Yelin, Hispanic Liberty Alliance, all provided educational presentations centered around their organizations.
Outlining mission statements, objectives, and volunteer opportunities for each Hispanic organization; Montenegro, Zuniga, and Yelin’s discussions all shared a common focus on creating and maintaining Hispanic leadership within the community.
“Having Hispanic leaders is crucial for our communities. Their role is to mobilize others by raising awareness about issues, facilitate open dialogue, and encourage collective problem-solving. Hispanics have a voice and active communities are better communities,” mentioned Monica Yelin.
The event culminated with an inspirational bilingual speech from current Pinal County Sheriff and AZ Senatorial Candidate, Mark Lamb. Lamb addressed several points in his speech, one being the recent assassination attempt of former President Trump.
“Last week showed us that God hasn’t turned his back on this country,” Lamb said.
Lamb also touched on his candidacy, border security, the economy, the constitution, and the Hispanic community.
“God, family, freedom, and love for this country, I think are all really important to the Hispanic community. They believe in all of these values. I believe in all of these values. I think the Hispanic community wants a candidate who also espouses those things,” Lamb remarked.
Lamb immediately followed his speech with a Q&A session. One large group photo consisting of attendees present, Hispanic leadership representatives, Kennedy Cooper and Mark Lamb brought the successful Hispanic outreach event to a close.
