Dominicans Who Support Trump

Many in the Dominican Community quietly support President Trump. Many who don’t support President Trump, have failed to understand what the President and his administration truly stands for due to the misleading media. Initially like many Latinos, most Dominicans are conservatives and well-grounded in their faith. World Atlas confirms that at least 95% of the population in the Dominican Republic identify and adhere to some form of Christianity. Although not all may be practicing Christians, this foundation helps shape the principles and values that many Dominicans believe in and hold dear to their hearts.

Many of the Republican Party policies are a direct reflection of these very values and principles. This is why it is not surprising to occasionally see people like Jose Peralta, a 42-year-old Dominican immigrant who wears a “Make America Great Again” hat and drives a car with an “Infowars” bumper sticker while delivering for a restaurant off Knickerbocker Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.

In an article written in the Bushwick Daily Mr. Peralta tells them “There are very little Trump supporters that will be willing to say anything about how they feel”. This is true, hence the commonly used phrase “the silent majority”.

According to the Pew Research Center, an estimated 2.1 million Hispanics of Dominican origin lived in the United States in 2017.  Any other source will openly confirm that the Majority of Dominicans in the USA live in New York. A place where Liberal Democratic leftists from other parts of the country flock to and pursue their careers as social justice warriors. They Push the envelope and encourage policies that promote late-term abortion, Feminist ideology, Socialism and violation of religious freedom since they feel that religion is discriminatory to their views. Agendas that are very foreign to the Dominican people. Going through the neighborhoods in NYC you can sometimes see graffiti on abandoned residential buildings which are spray-painted with remarks of Trump being racist and their discontent with the border wall. But the Liberal Leftist views are barely the reflection and opinions of the true born and bred New Yorker, and much less the opinion of many Dominicans who on the contrary can actually sympathize with President Trump’s mission to create a border wall.

Open borders? One would say that Dominicans would at least agree with this since there are so many who migrated here from the D.R. But many fail to realize that the Majority of Dominicans never had the privilege to walk across a border since the two countries are separated by the Atlantic ocean. Many work very hard to come into the USA legally, and also understand the importance of border control since they themselves have had much discontent with a long history of people sneaking across undocumented into their own Country from Haiti.
