Hispanics Will Lead Trump to Victory in 2020

President Trump’s polling numbers among Hispanics have increased to fifty percent, and Trump attributes the increase in Hispanic support to his decision to build a border wall. Liberal media publications are dismissing the polling result as an anomaly. A recent article by Politico gives Democrats a cause for concern in the 2020 election.

Politico reported that Pew Research studies found that 32 million Hispanics will be legally eligible to vote in the 2020 election, which will make them over thirteen percent of the electorate. This surpasses the number of African American voters by 2 million individuals. The Hispanic vote will be a deciding factor in who wins the presidency. There seems to be a debate among pollsters if the polls are accurate. The 2016 Presidential Election Polls revealed that twenty-eight to twenty-nine percent of the Hispanic vote went to President Trump. That is a one-two percent increase from what Mitt Romney received in the 2012 presidential election.

President Trump is far more popular with the Hispanic community now than he was during the beginning of his presidency. If the current polls are correct, then there is an emerging trend among Hispanics towards conservatism. President Trump attributed the Hispanic surge towards conservatism to his border security policies. While his border security policies may have played a role in securing him the Hispanic vote, there is a paradigm change here. Hispanics make up thirty-four percent of Catholics, eleven percent of Evangelical Christians, six percent of mainline protestants, and six percent of Orthodox Christians. The Trinitarian Christian tradition is deeply rooted in Hispanic culture and informs their ethical decisions.

The left’s radical positions on abortion may play a more prominent role in deciding the outcome of the 2020 Presidential election. A Pew study reveals that fifty-seven percent of Hispanics oppose abortion and it has become a signature issue for the Democrats in 2020. The Democratic Party just blocked a bill that would have protected babies who survived abortion attempts by legalizing infanticide process. This radical anti-life position will be more damning to the Democrats in the 2020 Presidential election than anything Trump does for border security. The Democrats have just told the Hispanic community that they believe it is immoral to protect even born children from being killed at abortion clinics. The Hispanic community is deeply family-oriented and blocking a bill that protects babies who survive abortions will not sit well with them.
