President Biden Drops out of the Race

President Joe Biden today dropped out of the 2024 presidential race. Days earlier both George Clooney and former President Obama called on Joe Biden to drop out of the race due to low voter and donner support. Before stepping down Biden had a 56.2 disapproval rating according to 538. According to NBC news, before stepping down President Biden was angry because of the betrayal of his allies and informed VP Harris and a handful of close aids of his decision not to seek election. After failing in his first major debate both long-time allies, and donors cut off support for the Biden campaign.

Forbes released a video with AOC discussing the implications of individuals from the Democratic Party calling for individuals for Biden and Harris to drop out of the ticket. In this video, AOC states that Republicans are planning legal challenges to name changes in the key swing states that the Democrats need to win the election. States like Ohio have laws that require individuals to submit a name to the state elections board before the DNC and the RNC conventions. There are deadlines in elections and now that Biden has dropped out of the Race he has placed the Democratic party in a legal grey zone in certain states.

AOC also said that there are elements in the Democratic Party that want to remove the whole ticket and that the party is divided in its support of Kamala Harris. According to Forbes AOC mentioned that a huge portion of the DNC donner class wants to see Kamala Harris removed from the ticket too. AOC said that there are key members of the Democratic Party that have already admitted that Trump will win the election. The Democrats are divided and turning on each other without regard to the implications of Biden leaving the ticket.

The Democratic Party announced its next presidential candidate will be Kamala Harris. MSN reported that front-runner VP Kamala Harris is predicted to lose to Donald Trump if she runs against him in the 2024 election. According to MSN an On Point Politics survey with 801 participants found that 51% of voters would vote for Trump if the 2024 election were held today. If this survey indicates what the election might look like, it seems voters are fed up with the Biden-Harris campaign and its policies.

Kamala Harris is starting her first presidential bid from a weakened position. Major donors and key members of her party wanted her removed from the Democratic presidential nominee ticket. Her voter support is less approximately 43% of the potential voters in the poll mentioned above stated that they would vote for Harris. Harris was a key player in the Biden administration and his policies are her policies. She was his right-hand and key in both developing policies for the Biden administration and implementing them. A vote for Harris is a vote for the same policies that have been hurting this country since the 2020 election.
