The Fentanyl Epidemic in the United States of America is getting worse as the drugs continue to pour in the United States of America. According to the BBC, fentanyl causes 66% of all drug overdose-related deaths in the United States of America. Fentanyl causes 66,000 deaths in the United States per year. 100,000 people every year die because of opioid overdoses in the United States of America. The New York Times reported that 7 individuals died in 5 hours due to Fentanyl overdoses in West New York.

According to the Council on Foreign Relations, the majority of all of the drugs smuggled into the United States of America come from Mexico. The Mexican cartels and MS-13 are smuggling vast quantities of narcotics across the U.S. across our border. The report from the Council on Foreign Relations states that 2 lbs is the average weight of smuggled Fentanyl that smugglers carry across the border which possesses 15 lethal doses.

Despite President Biden’s crackdown on illegal synthetic drugs in the U.S. his weak border policies continue to allow illegal substances and individuals to surge through the border nearly unchecked. According to data collected by the Senate Republican Committee roughly approximately 890lbs of Fentanyl come across the US-Mexican border each month. U.S. Customs and Border Control seized 549,000 lbs of illegal drugs in 2023. That included 27,000 lbs of Fentanyl that were intercepted at the border in 2023.

President Joe Biden opposed the Wall and the Democrats during the Trump administration opposed then-President Trump’s immigration reforms that would have secured the border. In his absence, President Joe Biden allowed numerous illegal immigrants, drugs, and trafficking to take place across the U.S. border. Thousands of people are dying of fentanyl and other narcotic overdoses while the border remains unsecured.
