PRESS RELEASE: Legitimacy of the Electoral Process

The Republican National Hispanic Assembly stands with President Donald J. Trump. Election integrity is fundamental to our democracy. As citizens of the United States of America, we demand a free and fair election. The Constitution does not grant the media the ability to declare the winner of a Presidential election. We believe it would be unwise to accept such results with the widespread reports of irregularities. Local election officials are defying state court orders. If President Trump decides to concede without completing a full investigation, he is doing a disservice to our democracy, it will be a mistake, and it will only divide our nation. Additionally, it will discourage millions of voters, cast doubt on our elections’ integrity, and discredit whoever occupies the oval office. We must ensure that the process is completely transparent so that the American people will have full confidence in the results.
