President Donald J. Trump – A True Friend of the African Americans
It is said that actions speak louder than words, so let us consider the following accomplishments of President Donald J. Trump and his administration for the African American community. The crime bill authored by former Senator and current Presidential nominee Joe Biden led to disproportionately harsh prison sentences for non-violent African Americans offenders. It was President Trump who passed the historic bipartisan criminal justice reform bill the First Step Act. The First Step Act eased sentences for nonviolent crimes and allowed those sentenced under racially motivated mandatory minimums.
The Trump administration also worked to create opportunity zones that motivate investments into disadvantaged communities. These zones help put a priority on rebuilding and bettering many African American communities that were long forgotten under prior administrations. President Trump also authorized and funded Washington, D.C.’s school-voucher program, where some 75 percent of those beneficiaries are low-income African American children. President Trump signed the HBCU executive order to support Black Colleges and Universities on February 28, 2017, that marks a milestone for African Americans. An initiative to assist the Historically Black Colleges and Universities from the Education Department back to the White House, he signed a $360 million grant.
Trump hosted the Young Black Leadership Summit last October in the White House. He invited hundreds of center-right activists who wore MAGA hats, while many on the left try to hide this great partnership and friendship of Donald J. Trump among African Americans, which is nothing new but an ongoing relationship of a lifetime. Trump said in this summit; “You stand right up to those forces in our country that demand conformity and control. You refuse to be censored. You refuse to be silenced. And you will never back down. “Trump has been winning over many Black voters and this has the democrats seeking anything they can pander to create a division. The recent race riots gave them ammunition for their plot and many find that stirring up this issue will work for their favor, hopefully, many will see beyond their usual tactics and not give in to this unjust form of political party combat.
Robert Johnson said “I give the president credit for doing positive things; when I see a president doing positive things, particularly for African Americans,” added Johnson, who made history as America’s first black billionaire when he sold BET to Viacom. There is a great movement of Blacks that support President Trump and history will show that actions speak louder than words. President Trump has the African-American community interests at heart.
