RNHA Attends NY State GOP Dinner
The Republican National Hispanic Assembly was honored to participate in this year’s NY State GOP Dinner at the Hilton Hotel in Manhattan, NY on April 4, 2024. Some Speakers present were Former RNC Chairman Ed Cox and New Chairman Mike Whatley. Our new Chairman Paul Rodriguez represented the RNHA-NY accompanied by Angel Cepeda – Senior Outreach Advisor. and State and Press Secretary Diane Rivera López.
Also, among the honorees was Congresswoman Elise Stefanik “I am truly humbled by the honor of receiving the Jack Kemp Leadership Award by New York Republican State Committee.” She stated within her moving speech as she was warmly greeted by the audience. “Thank you to the hardworking families of NY-21 for electing me to serve as your voice at the highest levels.”
Former Congressman Lee Zeldin gave one of the most powerful speeches of the night.
In my take of his participation, I believe we have a future Presidential Candidate in his well-laid-out ability to comprehend and communicate a case that moved the crowd in the room and inspired a string of support. He has stated,
“In 2024, Republicans must lean heavily into early voting. Universal mail in voting and ballot harvesting shouldn’t be legal anywhere, but wherever it’s permitted, the GOP must do it better than the Dems in a way that leaves the left in tears for legalizing it in the first place.”
Governor Greg Abbot, was also one of the speakers on Thursday, facing criticism over the busing of migrants to several States. There was also a group of protesters outside of the Hilton Hotel with a clear message of support for the migrants.
The most recent numbers given by Texas officials in March, shows they transported more than 105,000 migrants since 2022. Including 39,000 migrants who were bussed to New York; that’s over 20% of the migrants have arrived in New York City since last spring.
“We were sending them only to Washington, D.C., and quite literally out of nowhere, Mayor Adams starts criticizing me for sending them to New York City, so, after a while, I figured, gosh, if I’m gonna get the criticism, I might as well get the credit” Abbott said.
“I’m going to offer him a stay in one of the [Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Centers, so he can see what he has created and understand how we are treating people with the dignity and respect that he should have shown,” Mayor Eric Adams responded on Thursday.
