Trump Administration implemented Operation Legend in Kansas City, Missouri on July 8th of this year in order to combat the rise in violent crime sweeping the Nation. Operation Legend is a systematic and coordinated law enforcement initiative in which federal law enforcement agencies work with state and local law enforcement officials to fight violent crime throughout the United States of America.

The Department of Justice has deployed over 1,000 additional Federal agents to work with State and local law enforcement agencies. Since July the Operation has expanded to other cities including Chicago (IL), Albuquerque(NM), Cleveland( OH), Detroit(MI), Milwaukee(WI), St. Louis(MO), Memphis(TN), and Indianapolis(IN). Operation Legend is already delivering results.

On August 13th Attorney General Bill Barr announced the arrest of the suspect responsible for the killing LeGend Taliferro. On Wednesday August 19th, Attorney General Barr announced that Operation Legend has resulted in more that 1000 arrests including defendants who have been charged in both State and Local Courts. There has been more than 90 homicides. There have been 43 defendants charged with Federal crimes in Kansas, 61 in Chicago, 15 in Albuquerque, 32 in Cleveland, 22 in Detroit, 11 in Milwaukee, 15 in St. Louis, and 7 in Memphis. These charges include over 90 homicides, firearm offenses, robbery, arson and more than 100 charges for Federal gun crimes. and more than 100 charges have been filed for Federal gun crimes.

President Trump and his Administration will continue pursuing violent criminals and restoring peace to our communities through Operation Legend. Eventually the Trump Administration will expanded the Operation to include more cities and states.
